On January 11, 2024, the first meeting of the year of the leading researchers from the Clean&Circle Center of Competence was held at the Faculty of Biology building of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
The meeting was organized to discuss the second part of the technology transfer strategy, as a continuation of last year’s training conducted by Prof. Kostadin Kostadinov. The event was organized by Cleantech Bulgaria Foundation, which also provided catering for the attendees.
The presentation was followed by an active discussion, during which all participants raised questions and suggestions for improving the established rules under which scientists will work to protect the intellectual property rights of their work.
Prof. Yana Topalova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evgenia Benova presented an overview of the achievements from the first phase of the project. The results achieved by Clean&Circle are more than satisfactory, with key indicators met and exceeded. The discussion focused on further development and opportunities that will arise in the next program period.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Irina Schneider presented the progress on the final project report. The impressive volume of work involved in reporting a complex project like Clean&Circle is advancing at a good pace.
The plan for registering a non-profit association “Clean&Circle”, which will become an independent legal entity for the Center of Competence, was also presented. Project partners agreed to submit their proposals and corrections to the draft document by January 26.
The newly inaugurated building of the center and the continued active meetings of the team, even after the formal conclusion of project BG05M2OP001-1.002-0019, under which Clean&Circle was established, are undeniable proof that the organization not only has a future but will continue to develop its full potential.
