The second panel of the conference focused on the work of Clean&Circle

The first panel was dedicated to the regulatory framework. During this panel, the requirements of European and national legislation regarding construction waste management were discussed, as well as recycled construction materials and products prepared for reuse in the context of construction product requirements. A representative from the Ministry of Environment and Water presented the legislative requirements and opportunities for recycling construction materials.

The presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. R. Zaharieva from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) attracted significant interest. She provided a critical analysis of the current legislation, highlighting specific shortcomings and offering recommendations to the administrative representatives in the panel. This set the tone for the subsequent discussion, during which participants exchanged proposals for improving the administrative framework regarding construction waste management.

The second panel of the conference focused on the work of the Centre of Competence Clean&Circle. Construction waste management is one of the main modules of the project. In their presentations, Assist. Prof. Dr. Eng. Petrov and Assist. Prof. Dr. Eng. Evlogiev, both from UACEG, presented opportunities for recycling additive materials, gypsum, and mineral wool. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Rumyana Zaharieva also spoke, discussing the conditions for the effective utilization of construction waste. The panel concluded with a discussion in which participants exchanged opinions and experiences in the field of construction waste management.
