The Clean&Circle Competence Center won the prestigious second place in the global Triple E Awards competition in the category “Innovation Ecosystem of the Year.”
Among hundreds of applications from around the world, Clean&Circle was selected as one of the five best innovation ecosystems back in March this year. The award ceremony took place on June 28 in Barcelona, where the final ranking of Clean&Circle was revealed.
On the day of the ceremony, Prof. Topalova presented Clean&Circle at La Salle University in Barcelona before representatives from business and academia. In her presentation, she highlighted the ways in which the center contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, adopted in 2015.
“The competition was tough, but thanks to the tireless work of the team, Clean&Circle managed to succeed and be included among the best innovation ecosystems in the world. I express my deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this project a reality.” commented the project coordinator, Prof. DSc Yana Topalova.
With this outstanding achievement, Clean&Circle strengthens its reputation as a leading innovation ecosystem in the fight for a cleaner and more sustainable environment. This award is only the beginning for Clean&Circle, which has ambitious plans for the future. The organization continues to work diligently to promote sustainable development and inspire other innovators to create a cleaner and healthier world.
The award for the Competence Center comes just a week before the closing conference of the project, which will take place on July 5–6 in the Aula of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” Over the past five years, the center has achieved significant results in the field of circular economy and sustainable development, which are now gaining serious international recognition.
