On May 16, 2025, the Clean & Circle Competence Center participated in BioFest 2025, held at the Faculty of Biology, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The event aimed to introduce prospective students, current students, PhD candidates, and the general public to the activities of the faculty's departments and independent units.

The Clean & Circle booth attracted significant interest from visitors, offering an immersive experience into the world of microorganisms inhabiting activated sludge from wastewater treatment plants. Interactive demonstrations showcased how these microscopic organisms contribute to biological wastewater treatment as well as key processes in circular economy and sustainable water management.

At the booth, Master’s students from the Faculty of Biology actively presented scientific information in an engaging and accessible manner, fostering enthusiasm and curiosity among attendees.

“Participating in BioFest is a wonderful opportunity to show how science serves society. We demonstrated real applications of our research in water management and hope to inspire more young people to join these important activities,” shared Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Yotinov, coordinator of Clean & Circle.
