On May 30, 2025, the Clean&Circle Competence Center hosted the first official meeting for the new programming period. The event brought together representatives of all partner organizations engaged in developing sustainable technological solutions in the field of the circular economy.
Symbolically and significantly, this was also the first partner meeting held in the newly inaugurated conference hall of the fully completed Clean&Circle building, located on the Sofia University campus in Lozenets. The new facility provides modern infrastructure for hosting working meetings, scientific events, and demonstrations of technological innovations.
The meeting was opened by the management team of the center, who presented the main strategic priorities, organizational structure, and future steps.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Yotinov gave a detailed presentation of the work package structure and the leading organizations for each of them. He outlined the key topics to be addressed within the project, emphasizing the importance of inter-institutional collaboration and a coordinated approach to activity implementation. Assoc. Prof. Yotinov highlighted the need to achieve measurable results with practical applicability and long-term sustainability.
Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Nora Dinova, the center’s operations manager, presented the updated work program, focusing on current and upcoming administrative and organizational activities. She shared information about staff recruitment processes, monitoring of key progress indicators, and planning of project implementation stages. Special attention was given to the importance of effective collaboration among partners to ensure efficient management.
In the final presentation from the management team, Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Yordan Karapenchev addressed the center’s policy on publicity and communication. He presented the vision for active engagement with the scientific community, business sector, and the general public through a variety of communication channels. Initiatives discussed included regular updates of the center’s online platforms, organization of public events, participation in scientific forums, and building recognition of the Clean&Circle brand.
The meeting concluded with a constructive discussion among the partners, during which opportunities for strengthening internal coordination, sharing best practices, and developing future joint initiatives were explored.
The event marked an important milestone in the development of the center – not only as the beginning of the new programming period, but also as the first meeting in the fully completed Clean&Circle building, which will serve as the hub of future research and innovation activities.
