Project

“Clean technologies for sustainable environment – waters, waste, energy for circular economy“ (Clean&Circle) for creation and development of a Centre of Competence

Center of Competence “Clean&Circle” is glad to announce the visit of Dr. Ludmila Cechova as part of our collaboration with Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) of the Czech Republic:

Between October 13 and October 17, Dr. Ludmila Cechova from the Laser Spectroscopy group at CEITEC visited the laboratories of the Center of Competence “Clean&Circle”. Hosted by Assoc. Prof. Valentina Lyubomirova and Dr. Plamena Marinova, the collaboration is focused on the field of plasma-based water treatment technologies, wastewater recycling in agriculture and analytical methods for elemental analysis. In addition knowledge about project management in environmental technologies and the circular economy in the frame of interdisciplinary scientific groups was exchanged.

During the visit, Dr. Cechova gave a lecture ADVANCING LASER-INDUCED BREAKDOWN SPECTROSCOPY (LIBS): FROM ENVIRONMENTAL TO SPACE APPLICATIONS. She also visited and became acquainted with the work of the Clean&Circle laboratories on Plasma technology, the Laboratory of Trace Analysis in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at Sofia University, Microbiology and Central University Laboratory at the University of Forestry.

The visit was supported by the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Training program.

In their collaboration, by combining plasma technology, elemental analysis, and LIBS, the Center of Competence Clean&Circle and CEITEC aim to enhance the understanding of plasma applications in recycling of waste and wastewater as strategy for the circular economy, sustainable agriculture, waste reduction and protection of water and soil from pollution
