Sofia, November 20, 2023 – At the Institute of Organic Chemistry with a Center of Phytochemistry at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, a scientific conference entitled "THE SYNERGY BETWEEN SCIENCE AND BUSINESS – PRESENT AND PERSPECTIVES" was held. The event was organized within the framework of the project "Clean&Circle" BG05M2OP001-1.002-0019-C07, funded by the Operational Programme "Science and Education for Smart Growth" 2014–2020, and involved many of the beneficiary partners of the Center. 

Among the official guests who delivered welcome addresses were Krassimir Valchev – Chair of the Committee on Education and Science in the National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Georgi Vaysilov – Head of the Executive Agency "Education Programme," Prof. Dr. Kostadin Kostadinov – Adviser to the Committee on Education and Science in the National Assembly, and others.

The conference was jointly organized with the National Scientific Programme "BioActiveMed" with the aim of disseminating and promoting the results achieved under the "Clean&Circle" project. The event successfully showcased the synergy between science and business, summarizing the achievements in the field of scientific, technological, and investment development.

The conference was aimed at representatives of scientific communities, industrial sectors, administrative structures, and other stakeholders engaged in issues related to wastewater treatment, utilization of mineral waters, creation of clean technologies for a sustainable environment and circular economy, as well as the protection of human health.

The event provided unique opportunities for meetings and discussions between stakeholders, laying the groundwork for future initiatives and innovations in the field of clean technologies and sustainable environment.

We thank all participants for their active involvement and knowledge-sharing, and we hope that this forum will serve as an inspiration for future projects and initiatives in the fields of science and business.
