Project

“Clean technologies for sustainable environment – waters, waste, energy for circular economy“ (Clean&Circle) for creation and development of a Centre of Competence

The Clean & Circle Competence Center, together with the Department of General and Applied Hydrobiology, celebrated World Water Day 2024 under the motto "Water for Peace." This year, our focus was on the youngest – children, pupils, and students. The event included participation in a science-popularization study of various types of water by students. During the event, the best drawings in each category of the Clean & Circle Drawing Contest were awarded. Drawings selected through online voting were also recognized. In this post, you can see the awarded artworks in the different categories.

Special recognition was given to the drawing by Elitsa Hristova from 7th Secondary School, who also shared an emotional message related to World Water Day, which we are happy to share with you:

“Hello,

My name is Elitsa Hristova, and this is my drawing depicting a bird flying lightly and freely over a lake. Its wings extend toward the sky, and its grace conveys a sense of harmony and calm. The water surface, reflecting the sky of the lake, is quiet and peaceful.

The bird symbolizes hope and peace, as it represents the freedom to strive for new heights and look into the future with optimism. Its flight over the lake reminds us of the potential for harmony and tranquility that can be achieved when we, as a society, strive for peace and cooperation.

Water symbolizes life and the possibility of a new beginning. The lake serves as a source of inspiration and hope, representing the potential to restore balance and harmony both in nature and human relationships.

Thus, the drawing of the bird flying over the lake not only captures the beauty of nature but also carries a message of hope, peace, and calm, which can be found in the relationship between water and nature.”
