For another year, Clean & Circle will participate in the Sofia Science Festival. The event will take place from May 9 to 12, 2024. The Clean & Circle Competence Center promises to present visitors with an interesting set of scientific tools focused on educational activities aimed at promoting science in Bulgaria.

The Center's participation will take place during the first two days of the festival program – on May 9 and 10. At our stand, we will present a light microscope with activated sludge. The sludge is part of a sample taken from the wastewater treatment plant in Ravda, Burgas region. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe a variety of interesting microorganisms such as paramecia and amoebae. Thanks to specially adapted equipment for the microscope, these microorganisms can be photographed and studied.

At the same time, visitors to the Clean & Circle stand will be able to watch a similar video with activated sludge. This will allow them to track the development of microorganisms in accelerated time over a longer period. The video itself, along with the movements of the organisms recorded by our scientists, continuously generates unique visual art. However, the main goal of Clean & Circle's multimedia materials is to educate people about the importance of wastewater treatment.

In addition, Clean & Circle will offer the opportunity to observe bacteria under the microscope. Specially prepared stained microscope slides will display a variety of bacteria, and visitors will have the chance to photograph them using their phones, thanks to the microscope’s application.

The Center's team will be available to visitors from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on May 9 and 12. Besides the scientific experiments, you will also be able to ask us questions on topics such as the circular economy, recycling and composting, the challenges of conducting science in Bulgaria, and many other subjects.
